...to Bear Grylls: a waterproof cell phone

For me, this meant 'stay in touch', but also that 'wet' technology is useless technology !

Of course, it's about the basics like making sure you can use new technologies - twitter, social media, web 2.0, apps etc. Frankly that boils down to straightforward skills courses or asking anyone under 30 !

But more importantly make sure you know how your customers use them. It's too easy to assume that everyone uses technology the way you do, or that it’s there simply to show who we are and what we do.


We are already seeing maps and language learning via ipods; speaking notes via Kindle (it’s easier to hold than paper and I get large print size !)

And Twitter being used to share best practices - in just 140 characters !

This isn’t about technology training - it’s about innovation and lateral thinking.
